Stable, Efficient, and Reliable – Air Receivers for Optimised Compressed Air Systems

Horizontal & Vertical Air receivers
Horizontal & Vertical Air Receivers & Air Tanks

At Air Engineering Group, we supply and install high-quality air receivers designed to enhance the performance and efficiency of compressed air systems. Acting as a storage reservoir, air receivers help stabilise pressure, improve air quality, and reduce strain on the compressor. They are essential in maintaining a reliable and efficient air supply, particularly in applications with fluctuating demand.

Air receivers are available in various sizes and configurations to suit industrial, commercial, and manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal compressor performance and long-term reliability. A receiver tank is typically sized at 6–10 times the system’s flow rate, providing stored air for peak demand, removing moisture by allowing air to cool, and reducing system pulsation for improved efficiency. Whether integrated into a new or existing system, our air tanks help maintain a stable and reliable compressed air supply.

As an independent distributor with over 30 years of expertise in air and fluid control, we offer a wide range of high-quality solutions for various installations and environments. Working closely with our OEM technology partners, we provide tailored, innovative solutions that enhance system efficiency and reliability across multiple industries.

Our reputation is built on delivering tailored solutions, exceptional service, and competitive pricing to meet the evolving needs of our customers and OEM partners.

Pneumatic & Fluid Product Division

Compressed Air Storage:

Horizontal and vertical air receivers store compressed air, ensuring a steady supply and reducing the load on compressors during peak demand.

Pressure Stabilization:

Both types of air receivers help stabilize pressure fluctuations in compressed air systems, ensuring consistent operation of pneumatic tools.

Moisture Separation:

Air receivers, whether horizontal or vertical, aid in the separation of moisture from compressed air, improving air quality before it reaches downstream equipment.

Energy Efficiency:

Horizontal and vertical air receivers enhance the efficiency of a compressed air system by allowing compressors to run more efficiently, reducing energy consumption.

Safety and Compliance:

These air receivers provide a buffer of compressed air in industrial settings, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations by managing pressure levels.

System Expansion:

Horizontal and vertical air receivers allow for the expansion of compressed air systems, accommodating increased demand without the immediate need for additional compressors.

Further Information and Key Benefits

Although an air compressor can run without an air receiver, not having one increases load and unload cycles, making the compressor work harder. The air receiver stores compressed air, helping to balance the system, compensate for peak demand, and prevent pressure fluctuations. This improves efficiency and prolongs compressor life.

Just like a water reservoir, an air receiver stores excess air during low demand and releases it when demand is high, ensuring a steady and consistent airflow throughout your system.

To comply with safety regulations, all air receiver tanks must be fitted with a pressure relief valve and a pressure gauge. The relief valve should be set 10% higher than the system’s working pressure to prevent over-pressurisation. Additionally, a manual or automatic drain is required to remove water buildup and prevent moisture-related damage in the air system.

Key Benefits:

  • Reduces Compressor Strain – Minimises load/unload cycles, reducing wear and improving efficiency.
  • Balances Airflow – Stores compressed air, compensating for fluctuating demand.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Equipped with safety valves and gauges to meet legal requirements.
  • Prevents Moisture Build-up – Includes manual or automatic drains for water removal.
  • Improves System Efficiency – Ensures steady air pressure and enhances overall performance.
